FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are your classes convenient?
We have many classes every day that can facilitate even the most hectic schedule. We currently offer over 360 classes per month. Please refer to the schedule for class times. Also, when classes are not in session and during normal business hours students are permitted to use the facility and equipment to work out on their own.
I do not want to get hit or spar. Is that going to happen here?
Not unless you ask us to. LOL. We do offer sparring sessions for all of our striking classes (excluding Cardio Kickboxing). It is not mandatory, but if you do decide to participate it will always be in a safe and controlled environment.
Can I borrow equipment?
We do have equipment that we lend to students trying out his/her first class but it is recommended that you purchase your own once you become a member.
What should I know before trying class the first time?
The first time entering into any gym can be a very intimidating experience for anyone. Here is a list of things to do, not to do and what to bring to help make your first class a bit less stressful.
MUST HAVE:
1. athletic attire - shorts, tshirt, etc...
2. positive attitude - This is not going to be easy. It's much different than ruinning on a treadmill. It will be a challenge but you will enjoy it. What's important for your first class is that you sweat, smile and have fun.
3. your parent with you if you are under 18
NICE TO HAVE:
1. we have loaner equipment but if you have your own, please bring
2. change of clothes
3. flip flops or sandals - it is recommended that you wear these when not on the mat as you walk throughout the gym, especially the bathrooms
WHAT TO DO:
1. check your ego at the door - People here are very nice, patient and helpful. We promote a family friendly atmosphere. We have Professional fighters, Amateur fighters, Triatheletes, Stay at home Moms, Businessmen and all sorts of other people from all different walks of life. No one here has an ego. If your goal is to come here and be a mach man this may not be the place for you. You should noit have anything to prove to anyone, but if you feel you do that is what we have competitions for.
2. practice good hygiene - Bathe, wear deodorant and wear clean clothes and gis please. Thank you.
3. show up to go to work and leave all your previous worries and cares behind.
WHAT NOT TO DO:
1. please do not wear street shoes on any of the mats throughout the gym
2. please do not allow your children to play on equipment and run around the gym rampant
3. please do not leave your trash laying around the gym
How many classes may I attend per week?
All of our membership options are unlimited for each class. For instance, if you sign up for Cardio Kickboxing then you may participate in all of the Cardio Kickboxing classes that we provide daily. As many as you can handle. Also, all of our members are allowed unlimited use of the facility when not interrupting an already scheduled class.
Do I have to fight or compete to be a member of Combat Athletix?
No. Most of our members are training for fun, fitness or whatever their personal goals may be. If you would like to compete we would be more than happy to assist you and we will make competition opportunities available to you. However, we will not force you in that direction.
